Characteristics
Meyvesi oldukça iri olan bu çeşit İzmir menşeilidir. Meyve ucu memelidir. Verimi düşük, şiddetli periyodisite gösteren bu çeşit, yeşil sofralık olarak değerlendirilmektedir. İzmir Sofralık çeşidi 15 Mayıs - 5 Haziran arasında çiçek açar. 20 Mayıs - 10 Haziran döneminde meyve bağlar. 15 Kasım ile 15 Aralık arasında siyaha döner. Kısmen kendine verimli olup Ayvalık, Çakır, Gemlik, Erkence ve Memeli çeşitleri tozlayıcısıdır. Aşılama ve yeşil dal çelikleri ile üretimi yapılabilir. Soğuk ve kuraklık gibi dış etmenlere karşı aşırı duyarlı değildir. Değişik çevre koşullarına uyum sağlayabilir. Bu çeşidin periyodisitesi yüksektir. 3.2. Marmara Bölgesi’nin Zeytin Çeşitleri Marmara Denizi’nin güney kıyılarında yoğun olmak üzere Kocaeli, Yalova, Bursa, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Tekirdağ zeytincilik yapılan illerdir.
