In the 2024-25 season Kahramanmaraş harvested 24.551 tonnes of olives from 1.918.000 bearing trees — an average of 12.8 kg per tree. Of that crop 1.473 t went to the table and 23.078 t to pressing, yielding 3.683 tonnes of olive oil.

Where two regions meet
Kahramanmaraş is a transition point in olive geography: the north-eastern end of the Mediterranean region and a neighbour to the south-east's varietal basin.
That shows in its varieties. Nizip Yağlık — Gaziantep's principal variety — grows in the central district. Saurani is found here alongside Gaziantep and Mardin. At the same time, the Aegean-origin Memecik and Edremit (Ayvalık) have been planted here in recent years.
Kahramanmaraş is thus one of the few provinces fed by three separate varietal basins — Aegean, Mediterranean and south-eastern. Kilis Yağlık and Çelebi are also among its recorded varieties.
