In the 2024-25 season Eskişehir harvested 180 tonnes of olives from 40.000 bearing trees — an average of 4.5 kg per tree. Of that crop 173 t went to the table and 7 t to pressing, yielding 1 tonnes of olive oil.

Where it stands

An unexpected address in inner Anatolia

Eskişehir is counted among Marmara's olive-growing provinces (Bursa, Bilecik, Sakarya, Kocaeli, İstanbul, Yalova, Tekirdağ, Eskişehir, Çanakkale) — yet geographically it stands on the threshold of inner Anatolia.

That makes its olive growing a boundary case: the hard winters of a continental climate permit olives only in sheltered microclimates. Output is statistically negligible.

The province's value lies in showing how the olive behaves inland: the tree's chilling requirement is more than met here, but winter minima draw the limit.
