About this data

  • Source. Producer prices come from the European Commission Agri-food Data Portal open API, published weekly in €/100 kg and shown here converted to €/kg. Exchange rates are the European Central Bank daily reference rates.
  • These are producer prices — what the mill or producer receives, not the shelf price. Retail prices are several times higher.
  • Coverage. Current data is published only for Spain, Italy, Portugal and Croatia. France and Slovenia stopped reporting in 2017; Greece and Cyprus return no usable series. We do not fill those gaps with estimates.
  • Turkey is not in these tables — European Commission data covers EU member states only. Turkish figures come from a separate source, the registered trade prices of Turkish commodity exchanges (TOBB), and are shown separately in the Turkey section above. The two are not directly comparable: the European figure is a weekly average producer price, the Turkish one the price of individual registered trades.
  • EUR/TRY and USD/TRY are exchange rates, not olive oil prices. USD/TRY is derived as a cross rate, since the ECB publishes euro-based rates only.
  • Dates differ per country. Spain reports weekly while Italy can run two weeks behind, so each figure carries its own week-ending date.
  • Refresh. Figures are pulled from source every few hours; the underlying data itself is weekly.
