Where it stands
- ⚠ This province does not appear separately in the UZZK 2025-26 national crop estimate — its output is not economically weighted. It is nonetheless recorded in the literature as an olive-growing province of İç Anadolu.
The innermost point on the map
In Ankara the olive enters the statistics only with a symbolic figure. The province is one of the innermost points on Turkey's olive map, and what exists here is not commercial production but individual trees in sheltered gardens.
Those individual trees still say something: olive production in Turkey extends across 41 provinces and 270 districts, and at the edge of that spread trees appear wherever the climate allows.
Ankara's continental climate presses both of the olive's thresholds at once: extreme summer drought and low winter temperature. That is why commercial olive growing has not reached here.
